Seasonal Crop Management Specialist

Locations:                  Headquartered in Jupiter, FL; operations in the Southeastern US, & Midwest US

Compensation:          Salary and benefits commensurate with experience

Duration:                    Seasonal Position (approximately October thru April)

 

We are an award-winning TEAM of exceptional professionals working with some of the nation’s most progressive grower/farmers in high value, fresh market fruit and vegetables. Our TEAM has delivered valuable, science-based information to growers for more than 48 years and is nationally recognized for advocating innovative, sustainable solutions for our grower clients. 

Qualified candidates will be trained how to scout for various pests/diseases, learn treatment thresholds, document findings, and communicate findings to supervisors.  Crops may include tomato, pepper, potato, sweet corn, lettuce, cucurbits, citrus, rice, and sugarcane. They will also collaborate with our Research Division, which conducts multiple trial types from start to finish.

Your responsibilities could include:

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) scouting on multiple fresh-market vegetable and fruit crops;
  • Playing an important role to help growers make timely, informed, and economical field crop decisions;
  • Assisting in the performance of research projects and related areas of expertise.

  • A desire to work outdoors and physical ability to walk across uneven fields and spend hours per day in vehicle;
  • S. or approximate equivalent in related agricultural or environmental science disciplines;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and related electronic communication skills.
